Electrolysis, precision hair removal.
Electrolysis treats each hair individually, whatever its colour. It is the technique I favour for the face and hormone-sensitive areas, for white or light hair, and to refine a laser treatment.

When I recommend it
It is a precision technique, designed for targeted areas. For a larger area, we look together at the most suitable solution during the information session.
The face and hormonal hair growth
Chin, upper lip, neck, cheeks: on these areas, hair growth is often hormone-related and hairs vary in colour and thickness. Electrolysis treats them one by one, vellus hair included, with no risk of paradoxical hair growth. Face, hormones and PCOS →
White, grey or light hair
Laser works through the pigment in the hair. When the hair is white, grey, blonde or red, electrolysis takes over, because it does not depend on colour.
Precise areas
The eyebrows and every area of the face, around the areolas, a few stray hairs: where every hair counts, electrolysis offers a precision that laser cannot.
Finishing after laser treatment
On the legs, bikini line or underarms, laser generally already gives very good results. Sometimes a few finer or lighter hairs remain: electrolysis can then refine the result, case by case. Laser hair removal →
I use thermolysis
The same gesture is repeated, follicle by follicle. It is meticulous work that calls for precision and experience.
The filament
A very fine, sterile, single-use filament is gently inserted into the natural opening of the hair, along the follicle.
The heat
A high-frequency current then produces a very localised heat at its tip, which coagulates the germinative cells responsible for regrowth.
The removal
The released hair then slides out without pulling.

The information session
The first session costs €20 and lasts no more than half an hour, including 5 minutes of treatment. I assess the area and the density of the hair, you discover the sensation, and I check how your skin reacts. I then tell you the session length and frequency that suit you.
A gradual treatment, over about a year
Electrolysis is a gradual treatment, which generally takes place over about a year. You pay session by session, in blocks of 15 to 60 minutes.
- 01
A first “clearing” phase
Sessions are close together, every 1 to 3 weeks, to treat all the visible hair in the area.
1 to 3 weeks - 02
Then sessions further apart
Hairs that were resting beneath the skin gradually appear and are treated in turn. The area becomes clearer and the sessions are spaced out.
- 03
Long-term follow-up
With hormonal hair growth, new hairs may appear over time; a few maintenance sessions are then enough.
Electrolysis is very well tolerated
A brief pinprick
You feel a brief pinprick sensation at each hair, a little more noticeable on sensitive areas such as the upper lip.
At your own pace
I work at your pace, with breaks if you wish.
Aftercare
After the session, it is normal to see slight redness, sometimes a little perifollicular oedema (slight swelling around the treated hair) and a few tiny scabs. These reactions fade quickly.
Disinfect the area
With an alcohol-free disinfectant, then apply a non-greasy healing cream. I will recommend suitable products at your first session.
No make-up
Avoid make-up on the area for 24 hours.
No sauna or intense heat
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis and any intense heat for 24 hours.
Between sessions
Do not tweeze or wax the area: the hair must stay in its follicle to be treated. Between sessions, shaving or trimming with scissors is fine, but do not shave the area before the session: the hair must be visible to be treated.
Contraindications
Contraindications are reviewed in detail at the information session. Depending on the case, I ask for your doctor’s opinion before we start.
- a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device;
- under 16 (from 16, with a parent’s consent);
- pregnancy and breastfeeding: I advise resuming treatment once your hormonal balance has settled.
Two complementary techniques
The two techniques complement each other. Depending on the area and your hair, it is sometimes useful to combine them.

Frequently asked questions about electrolysis
All the questions on a single page: the full FAQ.
Is electrolysis permanent?
Yes. Each treated hair is permanently destroyed: its follicle no longer produces hair. Over a full course of treatment, electrolysis can therefore remove all the hair from an area. That is its great strength. As hormones can activate new hairs over the years, a few maintenance sessions are then enough.
Why electrolysis rather than laser for the face?
Because facial hair is often fine, light or hormone-related, and electrolysis treats all of it, vellus hair included, with no risk of paradoxical hair growth. Laser remains useful for some very dark, coarse hairs.
Can I have electrolysis on an area treated with laser?
Yes, it is in fact a common combination: electrolysis refines the laser result. At the information session, I will tell you how long to wait between the two: it depends on the area and the hair being treated.
Should I let my hair grow before the session?
Yes. Do not shave the area before the session: the hair must be visible to be treated. Do not tweeze or wax it either.
How long does the treatment take?
Generally about a year, with sessions close together at first, then further and further apart.
Does electrolysis leave marks?
The slight redness and any tiny scabs fade quickly. Performed with care and followed by proper aftercare (disinfection, healing cream), electrolysis should not leave any trace. I give you precise instructions at every session.
