Before you start01

Why an information session (first consultation) before the first treatment session?

Because I never treat skin without examining it first. I look at your hair and skin, check for contraindications, tell you whether laser or electrolysis is right for you, and give you an indicative number of sessions. It is mandatory.

Is there a charge for the information session?

For laser, no: the information session is free of charge and does not include any treatment. For electrolysis, the information session costs €20, as it includes 5 minutes of treatment: we test directly on the area.

How long does the information session (first consultation) take?

For laser, allow about twenty minutes. For electrolysis, the information session lasts no more than half an hour, including 5 minutes of treatment.

From what age?

From 16, with a parent’s consent.

Is laser suitable for everyone?

No. It works on dark hair and on many skin types, but not on white, grey, blonde or red hair. For those, electrolysis takes over: a precision technique, designed for targeted areas.

Laser or electrolysis: how do I choose?

Laser for dark hair, on every area, including large ones. Electrolysis for the face and hormonal hair growth, precise areas, and white or light hair. Depending on the area and your hair, it is sometimes useful to combine the two techniques. I advise you at the information session.

When is the best time to start?

Autumn and winter are ideal for areas exposed to the sun (legs, face, arms). Other areas can be treated all year round.

Is the centre accessible?

Yes. The centre is on the ground floor, step-free: it is accessible for people with reduced mobility. There is free private parking in front of the centre.

The sessions02

Does it hurt?

It is the question I am asked most, and a fair one. With laser, you feel a brief warmth, softened by the tip cooled to around 0 °C. With electrolysis, a brief pinprick sensation at each hair, more noticeable on the upper lip. The vast majority of my clients find the sensation perfectly bearable, and we take all the time needed, with breaks if you wish.

Can I use a numbing cream?

For sensitive areas, such as a full Brazilian, a light numbing cream is possible. We discuss it at the information session.

How many sessions will I need?

With laser, usually 6 to 10 sessions. The number depends on the area treated, the type and colour of the hair, your skin type, your age and your hormonal profile; the face, for women and men alike, and hormonal hair growth often need more. Electrolysis is a gradual treatment, generally over about a year. I give you an indication for your own case.

Why several sessions?

Laser only destroys the bulb when the hair is in its active growth phase (anagen). In the transition or resting phase, it only weakens it. Since not all your hairs are growing at the same time, several sessions are needed, 6 to 8 weeks apart.

How long between sessions?

With laser, 6 to 8 weeks at first, most often 8, never less. The intervals then lengthen as the hair becomes sparser, until you reach maintenance sessions. With electrolysis, every 1 to 3 weeks at first (the “clearing” phase for the area), then further and further apart.

How long does a session last?

From 10 minutes for an upper lip to over an hour for several large areas. Electrolysis is booked in blocks of 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.

Do I need to shave beforehand?

For laser, yes: 48 hours before the session (two days before). Hair cut close to the skin allows the energy to travel down to the bulb, rather than heating the shaft at the surface. For electrolysis, no: do not shave the area before the session, the hair must be visible to be treated. Do not tweeze or wax it either.

What should I do after a laser session?

Keep the area out of the sun for 4 to 5 days, and avoid exercise for 2 to 3 days. Do not pull on the treated hairs: from the fourth day, a gentle scrub helps them fall out.

What should I do after an electrolysis session?

Disinfect the area with an alcohol-free disinfectant, then apply a non-greasy healing cream. For 24 hours, avoid make-up on the area, as well as saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis and any intense heat. Slight redness or a few tiny scabs are normal and fade quickly. I will recommend suitable products at your first session.

Can I wax or tweeze between sessions?

No. For laser, stop waxing, tweezing and using an epilator 4 weeks before the first session, and throughout the treatment: both laser and electrolysis need the hair to be in its bulb. Shaving is fine for laser.

Results03

Is the hair removal really permanent?

With laser, you can generally expect around 80% less hair after a full course of treatment; the remaining hairs are finer and lighter. Electrolysis goes further: each treated hair is permanently destroyed, which means that, over a full course of treatment, all the hair in an area can be removed. That is its great strength. As hormones can activate new hairs over the years, I recommend one or two maintenance sessions a year.

What if the treatment stops working?

If I think laser will not work for you, I tell you before we start, and we do not start. During treatment this is rare: if results level off, I tell you that too. I will not sell you sessions you do not need.

When will I see a difference?

From the very first session: regrowth is already different, and the treated hairs fall out 10 to 15 days later. The difference then becomes more noticeable session after session.

I have PCOS. Can it be treated?

Yes, and the improvement is often significant. It generally takes more sessions and maintenance. We talk about it frankly at the information session, with your doctor if needed. Read the face and PCOS page →

My hair is white, blonde or red.

Laser does not pick it up. Electrolysis, which does not depend on hair colour, treats it on the face and targeted areas. For a larger area, we discuss it together at the information session. Read the electrolysis page →

Precautions and contraindications04

Can I have laser in summer?

Yes, on areas not exposed to the sun. Your skin must not be tanned at the time of the session: no sun, sunbeds or self-tanner on the area. How long to wait depends on your skin type; I will tell you at the information session.

Can I have laser while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No, I prefer to wait. I advise resuming treatment once your hormonal balance has settled.

I am taking medication. Is that a problem?

Some medication makes the skin sensitive to light. Let me know about any treatment, even a cream. If in doubt, I ask for your doctor’s opinion.

What about tattoos and moles?

I do not pass the laser over them. I protect them or work around them.

I have a pacemaker.

Electrolysis is not possible with a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device. Laser is possible only with your cardiologist’s written consent, and never near the device.

Prices and booking05

How much does a treatment cost?

I charge per session, with no subscription or package. With laser, one area usually needs 6 to 10 sessions: this is a guide, not a guarantee. You can add or remove an area along the way. See prices →

How much does a maintenance session cost?

The same price as a session on the area concerned. During maintenance, I go over the whole area again: with laser, treating hairs one by one would make no sense. I generally recommend one or two maintenance sessions a year.

Do I have to pay in advance?

No. You pay for each session on the day, with no commitment.

Do you offer promotions?

No. My prices are the same for everyone, all year round.

How do I book?

Online on Salonkee, with instant confirmation, or by phone on +32 492 62 72 76.

How do I cancel or move an appointment?

Online on Salonkee, up to 48 hours before your appointment, or by phone on +32 492 62 72 76. An appointment not cancelled at least 48 hours in advance is charged at 20% of the session price.

Do you treat men?

Yes. I treat all areas except intimate areas: back, shoulders, chest, stomach, beard line on the cheeks and neck, nape of the neck, ears, arms, legs. See the men’s page →

In which language do you see clients?

In French, or in English as best I can.

How can I pay?

Cash or QR code (mobile payment), on the day of the session.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, valid for 6 months: an amount (in multiples of €50), the most flexible option, usable in one or several visits, or a specific session. They can be ordered online, with payment by bank transfer QR code, or on WhatsApp. The voucher is sent within 2 working days after receipt of payment. Give a gift voucher →

What if the treatment is not suitable for the person receiving the voucher?

The voucher can be used for electrolysis or for another area. If neither technique is suitable at the information session, I refund the voucher to the person who bought it. You also have a 14-day right of withdrawal. Gift voucher terms →
